TERROR SYNDROME To Release Debut In March/April

October 19, 2007

THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen has issued the following update on the status of the as-yet-unreleased debut album from his Vancouver, B.C.-based band TERROR SYNDROME:

"I've personally made a decision to get this album out to you all independently by March/April 2008, if we don't agree to terms with the different options we have going on right now. The industry is really tough right now and everyone wants to take a huge chunk of the pie due to low CD sales (in every genre of music) and the increase in downloading songs and albums. It makes it hard for a band to make a career out of music when things are so tight in the industry. More details will be released about how it'll be distributed and such if i end up going the independent route.

"The bottom line is that we have some amazing fans in all of you and you guys have been waiting too long for this sucker to be released. Trevor Dunn (MR. BUNGLE, FANTOMAS) even emailed me this morning asking what was up!! His contribution to the track he played on is fucking amazing and it along with the rest of the album needs to be heard!!!! So, I'm saying it's time to give you terror heads something to look forward to. I'm going to start work on the CD art and everything and get the final mixing and mastering done very soon. I'll release it independently by March/April 2008 as a worst-case scenario.

"This album is something I'm extremely proud of and I can't wait for you all to hear what I've invisioned for soooo long. The only way that this won't be released by March 2008 is if we decide to sign with a label or distribute through a label that we can work with and make happy. Releasing records through a label always takes more time, so that would be the only reason as to why it won't be released in March/April 2008."

Guest musicians on TERROR SYNDROME's upcoming debut CD include Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT),Trevor Dunn (MR. BUNGLE, FANTOMAS),Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND),Byron Stroud (FEAR FACTORY, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) and Christofer Malmström (DARKANE).
